About the Class:

Zen-Prov! is a group class using the playfulness of improv to inspire and support personal growth. Through this group experience, you'll practice letting go of inhibitions, embracing the present moment, treating yourself with more kindness, and exploring the depths of your creativity. Each class contains a combination of improv exercises, group discussion and reflection, and guided mindfulness activities. We spend considerable time digesting our experiences in between improv activities. You’ll have homework exercises between classes to make sure your skills are making a real impact!

Please note that Zen-prov! is NOT psychotherapy and should not be used as a replacement for mental health or medical treatment.

Class Details:

  • Location: Online (After you sign up, keep an eye out for a follow-up email containing the unique Zoom link for your specific class).

  • Duration: 4 weeks

  • Time: Make sure to register for your preferred dates/time.

What to Expect:

During this class, we’ll use experiential improv games, group discussion, and guided mindfulness practices to:

  • Embrace the Present: Learn to let go of judgment, set aside your ego, and fully immerse yourself in the present moment. Through mindfulness exercises and improv techniques, you'll cultivate a heightened sense of focus and insight.

  • Change your relationship to thoughts and emotions: Skillfully work with your inner-critic by pushing through blocks, celebrating “failures,” and developing a self-compassionate inner dialogue before, during, and after improv exercises.

  • Build Confidence: Develop trust in yourself and your instincts. Gain confidence in your ability to think on your feet and trust the process.

  • Improve communication: Become a better listener through deep listening exercises and practicing getting out of your own head.

  • Connect with Others: Strengthen your ability to connect and collaborate with others. Improv is all about teamwork and fostering trust, positivity, and authenticity.

What to Prepare:

There is nothing specific you need to prepare before class. Just come with a playful attitude, curious mind, and a healthy dose of self-compassion as we jump into some improv exercises and begin exploring how improv can teach us how to live life more skillfully.

It’s a good idea to make sure you have a strong internet connection before each class : )
